Hvolsvöllur Camping Ground

The camp site is located on the first exit to the right when entering the village from west (from Reykjavík). The camp site was first opened in 1980 and is sheltered by large trees. The area is divided into smaller parts that are sheltered by smaller trees. The areas are flat and covered with greass.

The distance from highway number one is only about 150 meters. The center of the village is also in 150 meters distance where you will find may services such as a bank, post office, pharmacy, grocery store, beauty parlour, hair dreser, swimming pool, library, coffee house, restaurant, gas station and an informtion center.

There are also many walking paths close to the camp site as well as a 3 km long wellness walk that is excellent for those that just want to enjoy the nature.

Description:The camp site is a well located camp site with two service houses. One has dishwashing facilities as well as simple cooking facilities. The other is a new house with toilets, showers, access for the disabled and exchange room for small children. It has also dishwashing facilities. We also have 2 washing machines and a dryer. There is waste disposal for mobile homes as well as water.

The camp site has a playground for children. There is electricity and internet connection.

All services are close by in the village.

Hvolsvöllur is an ideal location since it is a short distance from many interesting sights such as the waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skógarfoss, the volcano Hekla, Thorsmörk, Landmannalaugar, the Westman Islands and the glaciers Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull.
