Flúðir Camping Ground

Great location by the riverside of Litla Laxá. The town Flúðir has been a popular destination for icelandic tourists as well as foreign tourist mostly because the area is known for good weather.

The area has been called “the food chest of Iceland” because of the big growth in vegetables. The camp site has several service buildings with toilets and showers. There is also a washing machine and a tumble dryer.

In the camp center (red house at the top of the hill) is a small store selling ice- cream, coals and other camp related products. There are also information brochures on most of the activities offered in south Iceland.

In the area there is also wireless internet, big outdoor barbeque, a playground and much more. Running water and electricity is available in most of the camp site.

The camp site is in a walking distance from the center of the village. In the village there is a grocery stoer, restaurants, bar, a swimming pool and a sports area.

The area suits families best and the children enjoy playing in the river Litla Láxa and many short and long walks for experienced and non experienced hikers. During the summer time organized walk are offerd with a guide around some hidden gems in the area.

Many other activities area available close to Flúðir. For example horse rentals, golf courses, river rafting and riverjet. There is also the zoo Slakki in Laugarás, music concerts in Skálholt and of course the popular Gullfoss and Geysir.
