Baugasel is is an old turf house in Barkárdalur, a deserted valley that stretches west from Hörgárdal into the middle of the Troll Peninsula. The valley is surrounded by high mountains and people did not see the sun in Baugasel from October 4th to March 8th or for 157 days.
Hörgur Travel Club renovated the old turf house as a hiking lodge in the 1980s. A jeep trail leads from the main road to Baugaseli, which is about 7 km.
