Seyðisfjörður Hostel

The Youth Hostel Hafaldan in Seydisfjördur has been run by Þóra Guðmundsdóttir since 1975.
It has been the comfortable haven for uncountable travelers ever since. The hostel is sheltered in two charming atmospheric wooden buildings:

One a dormitory for herring girls from the merry sixties at Ránargata 9, straight down to the harbor, and the other in a Norwegian heritage building, a former hospital from 1898 at Suðurgata 8 in the center of the village.  Both buildings have all the facilities to be found in a youth hostel: Well equipped kitchens and living spaces with all conveniences including washing machines and Internet connections.

The hostel provides both dormitory beds as well as double and family rooms. The summer season is very busy, so booking in advance is recommended.
