Húsafell is a frequently visited tourist resort which offers accomodation, dining and leisure.
Camping
The camping site in the forest in Húsafell has been popular for many years. The site is situated in the middle of the resort and only a short distance from the swimming pool, the golf course, the playground, shop and restaurant. There are around 60 electricity plugs on the site which require a European socket. There are restrooms, shower, hot and cold water as well as a facility to wash clothes. There is also a camping site in a beautiful area in Reykjafellskógur, around 2 kilometers from the travel center.
Summer cottages
There are summer cottages which are rented to the
public. Over the summer months they are rented out for a week at a time
but during the winter they are rented out for a weekend or a week.
Swimming pool
The swimming pool in Húsafell was originally built in 1965 but since then the pool and its surroundings have been renovated often. There are two swimming pools, as well as two hot tubs, along with a water slide.
Dining
In 2003 changes were made in the catering in Húsafell. The restaurant was separated from the shop and more effort was put into the former. The restaurant is run during the summer and has a menu which suits the whole family. The restaurant has a license to sell alchohol. During the winter time the menu is more simple. There is always Icelandic meat soup to meet the needs of hungry visitors. During the whole year we cater to groups who order food in advance.
The shop
Is open every day during the summer but only on weekends during the winter time.
Golf
There is a 9 hole golfcourse in the resort
