Hlaðir Community Centre is located in a tranquil and beautiful area in northern Hvalfjörður, about 40 min. drive from Reykjavík and 20 min. from Akranes. Hlaðir offers a good dining/dancehall that seats up to 200 people and is perfect for annual celebrations, parties, class reunions, family gatherings, conferences, music events and more.
Camping Ground - Hlaðir offers a large camping ground for tents and campers. Electric outlets are available and the camping ground has two large charcoal grills, a playground for the children and good restroom facilities. Showers are available and dishwashing facilities as well. The area also offers a dumping station for portable toilets.
Swimming Pool - at Hlaðir you will find a cozy outdoor swimming pool. Spacious dressing rooms and a steam room are located in the basement and extra dressing rooms outside. The pool is 17 meters long, there is also a wading pool with a slide and two hot tubs. The pool is open every day between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. but closed on Tuesdays. It is open from June 1st to the end of August.
Conferences and meetings - It's difficult to reach those whose minds are elsewhere. Bring your meeting or seminar to Hlaðir, your group will relax and will be easier to reach. A computer connected whiteboard, wireless internet, a screen projector, a large stage and a sound system. Whether you need to conclude the policy formulation, financial planning or concept work, Hlaðir is the place to be.
Hlaðir Occupational Centre - Hvalfjörður has an important occupational history and therefore an occupational center that tells the story from 1940 to 1945 has been established at Hlaðir. At the center you will find an exciting exhibition of items connected to the war and the history and culture of Hvalfjörður during that time.
