Hagavatn - Iceland Touring Association

ITA Mountain hut Hagavatn was built in 1942.  It was rebuilt in 1986 and underwent thorogh maintainance in 2000-2001.  It is situated in a vegetated dell at the edge of glacier Langjokull, at the foot of the westernmost of the Mts Jarlhettur.  Only glacial water can be found in its vicinity.  The hut accommodates 12 people, 8 downstairs and 4 in the attic.  A stay there enables the traveller to get better aquainted with Mts Jarlhettur, glacier Langjokull and Mt Hagafell.
